Slitless Areal Pure-Parallel HIgh-Redshift Emission Survey (SAPPHIRES)
Team Website & Early Data Release

PI: Egami, E.; co-PI & Program design lead: Sun, F.

SAPPHIRES (JWST-GO-6434) is a JWST Cycle-3 Treasury imaging and spectroscopic survey using the powerful NIRCam wide-field slitless spectroscopic (WFSS) mode in pure parallel. SAPPHIRES will obtain NIRCam imaging and WFSS data in many cosmological deep fields totaling a telescope charged time of 709 hours (557-hour exposures). SAPPHIRES is designed to conduct a highly complete (in terms of emission-line fluxes) spectroscopic survey of the most luminous (MUV<−21 AB mag) galaxies and AGNs at z=4−9 and potentially beyond, thereby making a robust determination of their number density and their role in galaxy evolution around the EoR.

Medium-band Astrophysics with the Grism of NIRCam in Frontier Fields (MAGNIF)
 Internal Team Website

PI: Sun, F.

MAGNIF (JWST-GO-2883) is a JWST Cycle-2 program that obtained NIRCam grism spectroscopy of four Frontier Field galaxy clusters (Abell 2744, Abell 370, MACS J0416 and MACS J1149) through the medium-band filters F360M and F480M. The medium bands are used to suppress the background from sky and galaxy clusters and mitigate source confusion issues, and thus reach a great depth for emission-line galaxies at specific redshift windows with less request of telescope time.

A SPectroscopic survey of biased halos In the Reionization Era (ASPIRE)
 Team Website

PI: Wang, F.; ALMA lead: Sun, F.

ASPIRE (JWST-GO-2078) is a 65-hour quasar legacy survey which targeted a sample of 25 quasars at redshift between 6.5 and 6.8. ASPIRE enables a powerful spectroscopic (NIRCam/WFSS) and imaging survey along the entire quasar light cones, resulting in the detection of Hbeta+[OIII] lines of about five hundreds galaxies at 5.3<z<7 over 280 arcmin2 sky area, including one hundred galaxies physically associated to the central quasars. ASPIRE-ALMA (2022.1.01077.L) is a 100-hour large program to obtain Band-6 mosaics in the fields of the 25 ASPIRE-JWST quasars.
